The Deceit of Religion

                                   

Religion is generally defined as a way of life agreed to by a collection of people, some others say that Religion is an opium to the people, there are also other definitions from the Merriam-Webster online dictionary and we list a few below :

i.                      The service and worship of God or the supernatural

ii.                    Commitment or devotion to religious faith or observance

iii.                  A personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

iv.                  A cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith.

The word Religion was mentioned in five different places in the Bible in the below listed scripture verses, and none of the verses talked totally good about religion in itself, in fact they go to warn us against being religious with out the worship and service to the true and living God.

Acts 26:5, Galatians 1:13, Galatians 1:14, James 1:26, James 1:27

        From the definitions of religion above, we see that, Religion does not really have much to do with the service and worship of the true and Living God; it is the devil’s designed system to keep man busy from serving the true and living God.

 Every Religion claims to serve and worship a Supreme deity or the supernatural, to observe certain rules, attitudes, beliefs and practices and the ignorant person is put in motion with all the rituals, kept busy and deceived from knowing the true and living God. What many know is what has been handed down from their parents/guardians or mentors and they hold on to that as the way of life.

Religion is a way of life, but Jesus Christ is the way to life and life itself. As there are many ways of life, there are many religious outfits, such as Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity etc. All these claim to lead to the worship of a Supreme deity or the supernatural through a particular leader or prophet, but the Bible says in Mathew 7:13-15

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: ¹⁴ Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. ¹⁵ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (KJV). And finally we see Jesus saying in John 14: 6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

All true religions must acknowledge Jesus as the only way to God else it is one of the deceptions of the devil. You need to understand that the devil, (Satan, the Dragon etc) is not just interested in you worshiping him as the all mighty god, as we have been taught in the past, it goes more than that. If he can’t get you to serve him, he will get you to serve his lower fallen angels, if he can’t get you to serve the fallen angels, he will get you involved in religions (organizations with rituals and religious dos and don’t), if he can’t get you involved in religion, he will get you to become a free thinker (one who believes in the existence of a Supreme deity but not through any medium), if he can’t get you to believe in that, then he will get you to be and Atheist (one who does not believe in God or in the existence of any supreme deity). In all the trick is to keep you busy an away from the true and Living God. You need to understand there is a narrow way to the true and Living God in Christ Jesus.  The Bible also declares in Rom 8: 1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

        The way to the true and Living God is not in the belief in one God the Father, not in the belief and worship of heavenly beings, not in praying through our fore fathers, not in praying through Idols and through prophets, pastors, Imams, Alfas, Bishops, grand-masters, herbalist, Priests of different religious denominations etc, but clearly through Christ Jesus the only begotten of the Father, every other way (are many) lead to destruction, sin and death.

If you want to enter into life you must go through the straight gate and that gate is Jesus Christ the son of the Living God, accept him as your Lord and savior, confess him today before men, and stop playing religion for religion is deceitful . To accept Jesus Christ into your life say the following prayer:

Father God, I am a sinner, I do not know the way to you, I thank you today for the knowledge of Jesus as the way to life and life itself, Lord I confess today that Jesus Christ is Lord, that He came to the world, died for my sins and was raised by you after 3 days and now is seated at your right hand. I hereby invite you Lord Jesus to come into my heart and my life come and be my Lord and savior, I denounce the devil and his agents, and I declare for Jesus and Jesus alone. Thank you father for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.
